Our GIVE A DOG A BONE fundraiser includes our Brunswick County Schools, Brunswick  County
Sheriff's Department, Shallotte Police Department and Carolina Canines.  Each school sponsors a K9.  The
students obtain pledges from family and friends.  Each pledge is considered a BONE ($$$ =  bones).  For
each student that raises 40 BONES or $40, he or she will receive a free Coastal Hounds T-shirt.  The
top
3 students
in the school receive a gift certificate to Wal-Mart, a Coastal Hounds T-shirt and free
admission to the Coastal Hounds Walk the Town Dog Walk, October 10, 2009.  Free admission is valued at
$30 (included: admission for 1 dog to walk, a wag bag, free event T-shirt, dog bandana and lots more).  The
top 3 students will have their photo taken with their sponsored dog.  The photo will be published on the
Coastal Hounds website and displayed at the event.  Each school's participation will be displayed the day of
the event with the number of BONES pledged to their sponsored dog.  The funds raised during the
GIVE A
DOG A BONE
program will be split:  60% to the sponsored dog, 20% to the PTO and 20% to Shallotte
Rotary.

Lincoln Elementary was the first school eager to jump on board.  Students sponsored CHICO from the
Brunswick County Sheriff's Department.  During their assembly day, CHICO along with Officer Donald
demonstrated what he does on a daily basis to keep them safe.  CHICO also brought along his 2 newest
friends, Bonnie & Clyde (2 new Bloodhound puppies the department has just received)  The students were
able to interact with Bonnie & Clyde.

Officer Donald.

Clyde, a Bloodhound,  is Brunswick County's newest K9 Officer.
He arrived several months ago with his partner, Bonnie.  Bonnie
and Clyde are 6 months old as of this photo.  They will begin
their training within the next several months.  The money raised
from
GIVE A DOG A BONE fundraiser will help assist Brunswick
County with the costs for training as well as purchase bullet proof
vests for other K9 Officers.
