Our charity walk lets every dog have his day!
At the starting line, some participants are slobbering, others are scratching
themselves, and still others are sticking their noses in inappropriate
places.  But their social faux pas are forgiving, because they have four legs,
wet noses and fur...and they're walking to raise money for charity.  The
proceeds from the event are split in several ways:  Proceeds from the day
of the walk will go to benefit, PAWs Place, B.A.R.K and Shallotte Rotary
Club.  Secondly,
60% of funds raised by Rotary's GIVE A DOG A BONE
fundraiser in conjunction with our local schools goes straight to the K-9
they sponsored :





Rules & Regulations:

Please help make this a fun and safe day for dogs and humans!

10)  Limit 2 dogs per walker
9)    Leashes are required
8)    No Pets "in heat"
7)    
No refunds  
6)    
Dogs should wear current rabies tags or have proof of            
        vaccinations
5)    Walkers will be asked to leave if their dog(s) display                
       aggressive behavior
4)    No puppies under 4 months of age
3)    Please stay on sidewalks & follow routes provided at time      
2)    Children under the age of 13 are asked not to handle dogs
while attending the event
1)   Scooping is REQUIRED!  If you are caught by our
       Poop Patrol not picking up after your dog-You will be fined   
      based on the load left behind

-Our volunteers (wearing green T-shirts) will be available to       
 assist you or your dog should you need it

-Pets first aid will be provided by Dr. Kettlekamp with                   
    Brunswick Animal Hospital

-Coastal Hounds will provide watering stations for your dogs     
    during the event

Date:  Saturday  October 9, 2010

Location:  Shallotte Middle School - Shallotte, NC

Length:  1.25 miles for the Bassett Hound Track
         2.00 miles for the Top Hound Track
  Brunswick County Sheriff's Dept (K9 Unit)
             (Bonnie, Clyde, Spike, Benny, Bruno, Jacko)
  Shallotte Police Department (K9 Unit-Max)
  Carolina Canines For Veteran
  Shallotte Rotary Club.
Event Day
Registration begins at 9:00 am
Pre-registration $25 (walker receives a Wag Bag, a doggie bandana and an
event T-Shirt

Line up and Ribbon cutting ceremonies begin 9:50

Walk begins at 10:00

Upon completion of the walk-each dog will qualify to enter a
RUFFLE (raffle)
Additional Ruffle tickets will be available.  Ruffle will be at 12:15

Demo's 11:00 provided by Shallotte Police Dept-K9 Unit and Brunswick
           County Sheriff's Dept

Games: $2.00 donation fee for each game

of Shallotte Police Department K9 Unit and Carolina Canines.
